One of the most frequent questions I am asked is, "What should we wear?" To help take some of the stress and pressure off that aspect of your photo session I have created a pinterest board with lots of ideas for color combinations. Also a few suggestions to ensure your priceless photos will stand the test of time.
1. Pick your favorite colors! The ones that make you happy, relaxed, feel good in. Don't pick purple and yellow just because it is the color combo of the season. If you are stuck take a look around your home. What tones do you use in your decorations? If your living room is done with dark warm reds, browns, and olives and you are planning on putting your amazing family photo as a huge canvas on one of the walls. Dressing in coral and turquoise beachy colors might look a little out of place in that space. You might even walk by and think, hmmm something is just not right, not realizing it is actually the colors competing and clashing.
2. Avoid logos or cutesy pictures on shirts. You are investing in this session and in your family by having beautiful images taken by me, Let's make sure the focus of your pictures ends up being you, your bright faces, your shining smiles!
2. You do not all have to match. Be brave, mix things up. Sometimes it is helpful to start off with a pattern or print with a few colors and then pull out one of the colors in a solid shirt and another in a stripe for other family members. I love layers and textures.
3. Accessories can pull the whole look together. Think scarves, belts, necklaces, headbands, bows.
4. Lastly and most importantly. Pick clothes you are comfortable in, it will show if you are uncomfortable or if you can't breathe or move freely,
